Appalachia Service Project
Are you ready to serve families in Appalachia this summer through the home repair ministry of the Appalachia Service Project(ASP)? Are you ready to stretch you wings and open yourself to new ideas, new friends and new skills? If “yes” then join with other Faith senior high youth and adults participating in ASP this summer.
Faith has participated in ASP for over 35 years! The Faith Church youth who have served on ASP, many for multiple years, have repaired more than 155 homes. They have come to understand that their ASP experience is one of stepping outside of comfort zones and bridging cultures and sharing and receiving God’s love. The real story is not the construction, although that is much needed and our youth are proud of what they have accomplished. The real story is in the personal stories of faith that they begin to write as they make homes warmer, safer and drier.
All senior high youth are invited to participate in ASP mission week. We also have adult and young adult leader spots available. We hope you will give your commitment prayerful consideration.

To reserve your spot on the ASP Mission Team:
Youth Volunteers will need to carefully read and sign the Youth Covenant and include a paragraph of why they want to serve on ASP. We will also need a completely filled out Volunteer Registration Form and a copy of their insurance card. This form does require a signature, but you do NOT need to notarize it. The church office will handle the notarization. The participation fee is $250. If choosing the installment plan of 3 payments, the $100 deposit is due with the registration paperwork. The remaining $75 installments are due April 1st and May 1st. A limited number of scholarships are available, so don’t let the cost of the trip keep you from serving. Contact Mieke Blackwell for more information. All registration paperwork, completely fill out, must be turned in, along with the deposit, by February 24th. All those meeting the deadline will be guaranteed a spot on the team. Anyone missing the deadline will be put on a waiting list.
Young Adult Volunteers (College Age, under 25) will need to carefully read and sign the Young Adult Covenant. We will also need a completely filled out Volunteer Registration Form and a copy of your insurance card. This form does require a signature, but you do NOT need to notarize it. Openings will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. Your spot will not be held until all paperwork is completely filled out and turned in, along with the deposit.
Adult Volunteers (over 25) will need to read and sign the Adult Covenant. We will also need a completely filled out Volunteer Registration Form and a copy of your insurance card.
